Haptic Button
This invention helped Motorola win multiple Best of CES 2008 awards for the “…amazing work Motorola has done to improve haptics technology”.
Unleash Human Potential
We helped Motorola invent the modern haptic experience. Designed around an understanding of human physical touch, this new haptic technology revolutionized how people interact with technology to unleash their potential. By combining piezoelectric actuators and drivers with intelligent human factors engineering, we were able to replace the feel of a mechanical button with something that could be placed under the surface of the screen. This paved the way for smaller form factors with larger displays, and an endless array of customizable haptic solutions.
Today's devices and experiences just wouldn’t be the same without piezo haptic interfaces. From the magical “click” you feel when you press against the screen, to the endless gaming experiences, product makers have an almost endless canvas available to design. Piezo haptics are also smaller, simpler to design and take less battery power than traditional mechanical parts, allowing the creation of more portable, longer-lasting devices and experiences to enhance productivity and entertainment.
